Things you should worry about

You can only worry about so many things. Seven to be exact. We’re going to assume you’re already worrying about the big stuff like global warming, the economy. Those don’t really count. Here are some that should be on your top 10 list:

Palm oil. Destroying acres of rain forests.

If you live in California…your couch. Children and pets are the most affected. California has the strictest “safety” fire safety standards, which means foam-filled furniture (all those beautiful chairs and couches from big box stores — Pottery Barn, Macy’s, Crate and Barrel, etc.) is treated with toxic fire retardants. An Environmental Working Group study shows toddlers’ bodies have an average of three times the level of fire retardants found in the mothers’ bodies.
